Each day is a gift

Each day is important. One thing that I have been trying to do is to make the most out of every day and to make sure that I show people that I care. We never know what the plan for our lives is and we may not have tomorrow. Showing and telling people that they matter to you is something to be done now. Don't wait til tomorrow or holidays or birthdays. They may never come.

Good timing...

The fall colors are so beautiful now. I have never been so busy in all my life with so many meetings and activities that I am enjoying so thoroughly. I never knew that my life could go in so many different directions all at the same time! Each one is important, but I must be careful not to spread myself too thin. Sometimes I can't say, "No." for obvious reasons. But I don't want to stop, either. It's the right time in my life. I'm just getting warmed up!

Community, in every sense

With the tragedy that happened in our city last week, the good news is how members of the community have pulled together. I am grateful to those who put themselves on the line to help monitor situations that had potential for unruliness. I am waiting for all the facts and evidence to be public, but I am hoping that the people who are working behind the scenes to keep peace will be there when the reports are public. It is imperative to me that calm heads prevail. If there are questions to be answered, we will either accept them or keep working together to find the answers. "Working together" will be the key to Peace.

Spot on horoscope

This is from my Yahoo Horoscope today--"It's the differences between you and your friends -- not the similarities -- that keep you all close, believe it or not. So embrace and respect the fact that they don't always agree with you! Sure, you may not believe those who hold different views, but you should always believe in your friends! Harmony doesn't happen when all notes are the same; it happens when different notes come together and create a beautiful sound. Love the music you and your friends make." As much as I enjoy the company of those who agree and have similar tastes as mine, the wisdom that these few words express makes so much sense. The real learning happens when others who don't share the same views and opinions open up to you. One lesson that I have learned over the years is to keep an open mind. The person who may be polar opposite politically, may turn out to be one of your closest allies!

New Stuff

Thought that I'd jump into the blogging world. Not sure how all this works, but I have friends whose thoughts I enjoy reading. So if you're interested in mine, here we go! Can't guarantee that there will be anything earth-shattering or exciting, but I will try to share City news and views as well as anything on the political front. Plus who knows what thoughts will pop up!
